The Champ Is Here

I don't really watch wrestling as much as I use to but this is pretty big. I'm a huge fan of John Cena and I was disappointed when he got hurt and had to hand over the title to Randy Orton but now he's back. He made his return at the Royal Rumble this past sunday and when I got word about it, I just had to see it for myself.

He was originally diagnosed to be out for 6-8 months but for him to come back in 4 is somewhat of a medical miracle. The guy has heart and he deserves to be given back the title he never lost so we'll see how things play out. His victory in the royal rumble match insures him a title match with any of the current champions and his sights are set on Orton. The two will collide at No Way Out in a few weeks for the title and once again, the champ will reign supreme. At least, I hope. Anyway, here's the video of how it all went down and props to WWE for doing something right for a change.

Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns (Trailer)

Let the record show that I am not really much of a Tyler Perry fan but his last two films (Daddy's Little Girls and Why Did I Get Married?) were actually pretty good. Maybe it's the fact that I don't really like his Madea character (unlike everybody else) but I'm actually looking forward to seeing this new film. Anyway, here's the trailer for the upcoming film so check it out. It looks like it's going to be another lucrative project for Tyler Perry.

This is why I love American Idol. Well, at least the audition process of American Idol because people who can't sing, really think that they can. Anyway, this dude Joshua Boson is killing Jennifer Hudson's song so if you're in for a good laugh, check it out.

Raheem DeVaughn: Love Behind The Melody

Neo-soul has become a lost art, in my opinion, but through artist’s like Raheem DeVaughn that dream is still alive. A common knock on neo-soul is that all the artist’s sound the same, but even if that’s true, I feel that Raheem is a worthy exception to the rule. His voice and passion for his music can be felt with every note sung and that alone provides for a smooth, mellowed out record that’s not only relaxing but pretty damn good also.

His latest singles “Woman” and “Customer” are currently in heavy rotation on contemporary radio and if you haven’t heard them then you’re missing out. What Raheem brings to the table as an artist is unlike anything I’ve seen and his CD is one of those that you could just press play and listen to it all the way through. Inspired by love (obviously), Love Behind The Melody plays more to an older, mature audience but I’m sure people of all ages will be able to relate. Love is universal and although Raheem caters more to the females on this record, fellas should take notes and educate themselves on the art of love.

I’m not saying that this CD is the greatest thing to ever be recorded but if you like good, honest neo-soul music then this will fit you perfectly. It’s not too soft, not too loud, but just right. I don’t really know how to put it in words but Raheem delivers a solid piece of work, worthy of all the critical claim he has been receiving as of late. Already nominated for a Grammy, Love Behind The Melody from Raheem DeVaughn is an experience to beheld. Just sit back, relax, and listen to the love behind the melody. What you hear may surprise you.

Danity Kane KING Magazine Cover

KING usually comes with quality covers but I must say…I’m a little disappointed to find out that Danity Kane will be on the next issue.
Not that there’s anything wrong with them but I feel like for a magazine that emphasizes “thickness”, save for D. Woods who else in the group has a bangin’ body? My point exactly.

Anyway, for all you Making The Band fans, the season premiere of Making The Band: Battle of the Sexes debuts January 28th on MTV.

Cloverfield

With all the hype, anticipation, and viral marketing surrounding Cloverfield, one would think that the liklihood of this film being a success was pretty good. Due in part to this “YouTube” generation of today, critics and moviegoers alike were drawn to this unique phenomenon and the end result was definitely worth the wait. Debuting this past year before Transformers, the trailer for Cloverfield sent people into a frenzy for more info; however, nothing more than the release date could be found. Surely part of an ingenious marketing plan, producer J.J. Abrams and company risked more than they had bargained for but after pulling in $41 million at the box office this past weekend, I’d say that it all paid dividends where it counts. Still, that has nothing to do with how this movie was received and after all the buildup and speculation, fans on message boards and those through word of mouth are still talking about this movie.

So, here’s the set up. For those of you who are not familiar, Cloverfield is about a group of friends who are gathering for a friend’s going away party. The only problem is, before the night is over a giant monster attacks the city, resulting in sheer and utter chaos. Starring a group of mostly unknowns, the film works in that it allows the story to balance evenly from one character to the next. No one character is allotted more screen time than the other and besides, the shaky camera, 1st person point of view wouldn’t allow it so it all makes sense in the end. Believe me, the Blair Witch camerawork is annoying at times and seems illogical considering the terror that’s taking place all around them but people are intrigued when it comes to things of this nature so it’s not a fallacy that someone would try to get all this on camera. Stupid? Maybe, but then we very well wouldn’t have a movie so it’s a double edge sword, take it or leave it.

Anyway, Cloverfield is one of those movies that you know very little about going in and afterwards you leave knowing just enough. For those of you who haven’t seen it, I’ll spare the details because you really have to experience this for yourself to get the full effect of what I mean. Me personally, I enjoyed the film and thought it was very well made. Just the whole idea of this film coming together and seeing it for myself was enjoyable. I may not have gotten all the answers I had hoped but it all makes sense in the end when you think about it. Like I said, the film is shot from a 1st person point of view so obviously you wouldn’t know what was going on either if you were in the middle of all this going on.

Keeping that in mind, Cloverfield is a success in my book and if you’re smart then I’m sure you can piece together some of the clues J.J. Abrams and his team hid throughout the movie. Bloggers and fan boys are running rampant with all the hidden “easter eggs” in the film but until I get an actual answer, I just take it for what it is. The movie was good and I recommend it to those that just wanna relax and enjoy something different from what we’re accustomed to. Don’t get me wrong, Cloverfield is nothing more than a giant monster movie but there’s more to it, if that makes sense. On the surface it may appear to be one thing, but beneath all that lies something totally different. And if you’ve seen the movie like me, then you’re probably still scratching your head and wondering the same thing I am...what the hell just happened?

San Diego Chargers San Diego Chargers (11-5)

New England Patriots New England Patriots(16-0)
So, it all comes down to this. The undefeated New England Patriots are one game away from making history and the ironic thing is that they find themselves in the same boat they were in last year. Arguably, the Patriots were seemingly on there way to the Super Bowl but every dog has their day and the Colts proved otherwise. Fast Forwarding to the present, New England has the opportunity to seize the moment for what it is and with every win to remain perfect, the road has gotten tougher. Now, the San Diego Chargers led by Phillip Rivers and L.T. hve their chance to avenge their divisional loss to the Pats last year but none of that will happen if Rivers and L.T. are not healthy. Both are nursing injuries, as well as Antonio Gates, but the key to this game will be the defense. The Chargers need to get pressure on Tom Brady, which is easier said than done, because if they don't force turnovers then their chances of victory are slim to none.

All in all, I expect this game to be close but for New England to pull away late. Like I said, I want to see an entertaining Super Bowl and what would be better than to see the Patriots and Packers? New England rolls in the second half and sends the Chargers home for the second straight year. 18-0!

19-0...just a matter of time.
Final Score: San Diego 17, New England 41

New York Giants New York Giants (10-6)

Green Bay Packers Green Bay Packers (13-3)
As fate would have it, the Green Bay Packers are playing out of this world and much of it has to do with the play of Brett Favre. For many years now, people have questioned his decision to continue playing and made reference to the fact that it only hurt the franchise in the long run but I think those same critics are pretty hush mouthed right about now. Those same Packers are on the doorstep to the Super Bowl and the only thing standing in their way is the New York Giants.

To be honest, a lot of people aren’t giving New York a real chance to win this game considering what the conditions are going to be like this weekend in Green Bay but records speak for themselves. The Giants have only lost one game on the road all year (including the playoffs) and that is the sole reason why they have a shot to win this game. Weather won’t be much of an advantage to either team and it will come down to who can execute better but it’s a toss up for me either way. I’m not a fan of either team and all bias aside, I guess I have to pick the team that would make for an entertaining Super Bowl. So, with that said, I’m taking the Green Bay Packers in a close one. Brett Favre deserves it after the season he’s had but shout out to Eli for silencing his critics. His time to shine will come but this year belongs to Brett.
Final Score: New York 14, Green Bay 24

First Sunday

I think it goes without saying that Ice Cube is pretty exceptional when it comes to making movies. No, he’ll probably never win an Oscar or even have one of his films win best picture but his movies are well-received by all races and that is win in and of itself. That being said, his latest film, First Sunday, opened this past weekend and like most I’m sure a lot of his fans were anxious to “get there laugh on”, so to speak. I mean, Ice Cube, Katt Williams, AND Tracy Morgan all in one film. How can it go wrong? Unfortunately, that’s the same question I’m left asking myself after seeing this forgettable piece of work and while the movie wasn’t absolutely terrible, I found it more so disappointing if anything.

Plain and simple, the movie was just not funny. I believe I laughed like 2-3 times max but those were mostly small chuckles here and there. Blame it on the plot or bad chemistry but I just felt that the movie just didn’t work. It came off more like an after school special and felt kind of “preachy” but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I understood the positive message behind the film and I applaud them for being positive but I find something wrong with promoting this film as a “laugh out loud comedy” when it’s far from it. I guess it all depends on what people find as funny but I just couldn’t get into it. I’m not even a fan of Katt Williams but watching this movie made me realize why I’m not. Katt is only funny in small doses and that fact alone prevents studios from putting him as the lead in a motion picture. It would be hard for him to carry an entire picture on his back and last I checked, studios are only in this business to make money…not lose it. Then again, with some of the recent “flops” of late, it kind of makes you wonder.

Long story short, First Sunday is not one of those films I suggest people should run out and see unless you are absolutely bored and you have nothing else to do. Trust me, this is not Friday, The Players Club, or any other Ice Cube film that we have grown to know and love so if you don’t do anything else, heed my advice and be forewarned as to what you’re getting into. Save yourself the $6.50 or so and rent it when it comes to DVD. And oh yeah, you’re welcome…

Is This What Goes On At Day-Care Centers?

I hope not because this just scares me into not wanting to have kids. Check out this video of this kid vogueing to "Irreplaceable" by Beyonce. It may seem harmless now since he's still a kid but can you only imagine the embarrasment he's going to feel when he gets older. Better him than me, I suppose, but it's still unsettling to know that this kid was taught this and it was caught on camera for the world to see. Damn this You Tube generation...

Since when does Terrell Owens, of all people, care about his teammates let alone his Quarterback. Anyway, I thought this was funny to see T.O. crying and I can't help but laugh. I mean, I realize that there loss to the Giants will be a tough loss to swallow but, I've lost mad respect for T.O. after this and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same.

Rumor: Tiffany "New York" Pollard, Sex Superstar?

I’m not sure if there’s any truth to this rumor or not but, as it goes, there’s supposedly a sex tape floating around the net that features Ms. New York. Now, I’ve never watched I Love New York or any of those other “love” shows because I absolutely refuse to but I couldn’t help but ignore this. Truth or not, New York is an interesting individual and I find her strong personality to be what people are drawn to but why is that more rumors are prevalent from people on these particular shows? I just don’t understand it but, by all means, it makes for some pretty juicy gossip.

Anyway, the girl in the tape is supposedly New York but, as always, it’s hard to tell with things of this nature. I highly doubt it is though which wouldn’t surprise me but celebrities and sex tape rumors seem to be the new “thing” now. I heard a while back that Ciara had one, as well as Vivica Fox, so go figure? Like I said, none of this is 100% accurate so take it or leave it for what it is but who knows, it may actually be her. If so, I’m sure she’ll deny it until the very end but all it takes is the right production company to come through and flash a couple of dollars and we’ll have, Tiffany “New York” Pollard Sex Superstar a’ la Kim Kardashian. Hey, at least her self-proclaimed nickname of being the H.B.I.C could work as a double meaning now, LOL.

Who's That Girl?--Keri Hilson

It takes years of hard work and dedication to be successful in life but when you’re as naturally talented as Keri Hilson, things seems to come easy. As 1/3 of the songwriting collective known as “The Clutch”, Keri has lent her talents to some of today’s biggest hits. From Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Usher, to Omarion, Keri has made quite a name for herself only to have her talent go mostly unnoticed. That being said, it’s only fitting that her star will eventually shine bright and it seems that now is better than never.

Just in my observations, Keri has this “girl next door” appearance that exudes sensuality, but in a tasteful way. It’s all about the music first and appearance second but still, that is in and of itself. I find it refreshing that artists like Keri would much rather sell their music than their body but it’s a double edge sword. On one hand, you have talent which will transpire into great record sales if deemed exceptional (i.e. Alicia Keys) and then on the other, you have to get people to listen. Plain and simple, sex sells so artists succumb to pressure from record companies in order to bring in revenue (i.e. Kelis). I don’t consider it so much a lack of creativity but it is what it is. Nobody can put a label on creativity but if you’re going to do something…then just be different. We’ve heard all the innuendos known to man so instead of relying on looks to get you by, be “original” and focus on the music for a change.

Keri Hilson is “original“. Her talent as a songwriter is unmatched, in my opinion, and that speaks volumes because you know what she will bring to the table as an artist. Whether or not people will respond to her is another story but being backed by super producer Timbaland, I figure she can’t very well lose. Timbaland single-handedly helped propel Justin Timberlake to heights unimaginable last year and if he’s able to work that same magic again then Keri Hilson will surely enjoy the fruits of her labor. All her hard work has paid off and as she preps her major label debut, In A Perfect World, the limelight of it all is so surreal. Call it due diligence but Keri Hilson has made it. No signature of approval is needed but for further proof, look out for her first single “Henny and Apple Juice” featuring Snoop Dogg and Ludacris.

For more of Keri Hilson, check out her MySpace page here.

N.O. Classic

There’s something in the water in New Orleans and whatever it is, the New Orleans Hornets have found it. Maybe it’s the same magic the Saints had last year, but one thing’s for sure, the Hornets are one of the many surprises of this young, NBA season and all of it can be contributed to the play of Chris Paul. I’m a little late on this guy seeing that I don’t pay much attention to college basketball but after seeing what he’s been able to do in just two short years, I must admit that he’s the real deal. His play of late has propelled the Hornets to the top tier of the NBA and now teams are taking notice of a franchise that has been looked over for years. Whether or not the Hornets can hang with that of a San Antonio, Dallas, or Phoenix remains to be seen but hats off to Byron Scott for a great coaching job and management, as well, for bringing in pieces to make this thing work. What they had with Baron Davis running things was not working out anymore so to pull the trigger on a deal to send him to Golden State was smart and, in hindsight, paid dividends to not only the team but the community as well.

Being in the western conference, the Hornets have a tough road ahead to be taken seriously. Most would give them a slim chance to make it to the finals, let alone appear in the conference finals, but anything is possible. Basketball is the ultimate team sport and the Hornets just have this chemistry about them that wouldn’t surprise me if they did pull an upset and made it to an NBA finals. Like I said, all that remains to be seen but one thing is clear, this team goes as Chris Paul goes and the upside is tremendous. This burgeoning star is playing at an all-star level and proof of that can be the reason why he was chosen as the cover athlete for this year's NBA 2k8. Certainly worthy of the honor, Paul continues to cement his legacy right before our eyes. The only scary part is that he’s not even in his prime yet so, if he keeps playing at such a high level then his name would be plastered among the greats. All he needs is a little validation and with the motivation and drive that this kid has, an NBA championship is not far from his grasp.

Lupe Fiasco's The Cool

If greatness is what defines a man, then Lupe Fiasco is well ahead of the curve. Already hailed as one of the freshest, new MC’s to the rap game, critics applauded his debut album, Food & Liquor, for its substance over style concept and proclaimed him as the saving grace for Hip Hop. However, due to a complete lack of ignorance, as some would say, those same critics are now questioning Lupe’s respect for the game after what happened at this past year’s VH1 Hip Hop Honers. Much has been maligned about the situation so I prefer not to delve deeper into the fiasco (no pun intended) but it is what it is. Lupe pulls no punches when it comes to his thoughts and ideas and walks adjacent to what most consider the “norm” but isn’t that the reason why some of us love ‘em and others hate ‘em? Being one of those that love ‘em, I respect Lupe on the lyrical tip but you gotta show respect for those that paved the way, regardless of how strongly you may feel, because down the road, you’ll expect people to do the same for you.

All that aside, Lupe returns with his follow up to Food & Liquor entitled Lupe Fiasco’s The Cool. Now, for those that have heard F&L, then you’re well aware that "The Cool" was a song on the album and basically this new CD is an expansion on that whole concept of the song. The only difference is that Lupe broadens the story and introduces a few new characters but the disappointment in all this is that this album was marketed as a “concept” album when, in fact, only a few songs even refer back to the “story”. That alone does not deter this from what I had hoped for the album, because the album is amazing. I just found it to be not as fluid as F&L and oversaturated, if I must say so myself. Cuts like “Hip Hop Saved My Life”, “Little Weapon”, “The Coolest”, and even the current single “Superstar” are among the many stand out tracks but they only work as a whole. In other words, unlike other albums that build themselves around that one smash single, The Cool is one of those albums you press play on and have to really listen to in order to get the full effect of what Lupe is trying to get across. I’ll admit, I’m still a little lost on a couple parts but that just makes me want to listen even more. Piece by piece, it’s all starting to make sense, I suppose, but call it a work in progress.

On the flipside of things. Lupe delivers an album worthy of “classic” material but the same argument will always be made about his style. Save for his core fan base, people just don’t get him and feel intimidated. In response, Lupe addressed the situation on the track “Dumb It Down” and I commend him for it but still, people don’t want to feel as though their out of the loop. Nowadays, most people don’t care too much for lyrics and would rather dance but for those that appreciate food for thought, artists like Lupe Fiasco, Common, Kanye West, etc…it makes you thankful that Hip Hop has such a broad spectrum and is able to speak to the perils of the common man. Regardless of the medium, the message remains the same. All you gotta do is listen and just be careful not to overdose on The Cool. The consequences are the food and liquor…

Superman Dat Ho

Maybe I’m late on this but how many people really know what “Superman Dat Ho” really means? Forget about the dance and all that irrelevant stuff that Soulja Boy has come up with because, in my opinion, I don’t think he’s that talented. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a great entertainer and I respect him for doing his thing and capitalizing off a crazy/complex dance but this lil’ ride he’s on won’t last too much longer.

Anyway, getting back to what I was saying. I was doing a little bit of research on this issue of what it means to “Superman Dat Ho” and I came across a lot of stuff, but only one thing remained consistent so I figured it only made sense. Long story short, according to numerous websites that I came across, to “Superman Dat Ho” means to ejaculate on a girl’s back while she’s sleeping and place the covers over it so when she wakes up it’ll be stuck to her back like a cape, thus resembling Superman. I’ll admit, it’s kind of disgusting but funny, at the same time, to know that a 16-year old came up with this but who would even think of an idea? Apparently, Soulja Boy but go figure. Boys will be boys and Soulja Boy is still young so I’m not surprised. To anybody who’s heard his album then you’re well aware of what I mean, and what about this new video he’s got out? Dude’s a clown but it works for him, so on the surface it may look like I’m hating but I’m not. I’m just giving y’all my biased opinion so take it or leave it, that’s just how I feel.

NFL: Divisional Playoff Weekend Predictions

Seattle Seahawks Seattle Seahawks (10-6)

Green Bay Packers Green Bay Packers (13-3)
At some point…you would think that the Green Bay Packers season was nothing more than a mere aberration but the Packers seem to be legit. They’ve proved that their win/loss record is no fluke and with the rejuvenation of Brett Favre, the sky is the limit for this team. All that aside, Matt Hasselbeck and the Seahawks have revenge on their mind from that embarrassing playoff loss a few years ago and how bittersweet would it be to return the favor. Although the Seahawks may be under matched due to their inconsistent play and unbalanced offense, the Packers are beatable and the strong passing game of Seattle will do just enough to get a win at Lambeau. So, if you haven’t figured it out yet, I’m taking Seattle and they’re going to win.
Final Score: Seattle 28, Green Bay 24
Jacksonville Jaguars Jacksonville Jaguars (10-6)

New England Patriots New England Patriots (16-0)
With an undefeated regular season under their belt, the New England Patriots have their toughest test yet awaiting them with the run to the Super Bowl underway and standing in their way are the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coming off an impressive, hard-fought victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, in Pittsburgh no less, the Jaguars have a tremendous opportunity to break up this unbeaten streak of the Patriots but in all likelihood I don’t see that happening. Jacksonville is a good team and will have their time to shine in the near future but they just don’t have what it takes to be a champion, in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, a win over New England would be huge to that franchise but New England has too many weapons and through all the adversity they just find ways to beat you. I expect Jacksonville to keep the game close but New England to pull away late, advancing themselves to the AFC championship game and one step closer to immortality.
Final Score: Jacksonville 17, New England 38
San Diego Chargers San Diego Chargers (11-5)

Indianapolis Colts Indianapolis Colts (13-3)
The road to the Super Bowl goes through Indianapolis and unfortunately for Colts fans, that road ends here. Quietly, the Colts have had a sub par season and have went mostly under the radar but I think that all the injuries the Colts have had will catch up to them eventually. Even if they survive the surging San Diego Chargers, New England will be tough to beat and/or Jacksonville will be also for a third time in a row. Maybe it’s just the fact that I hate the Colts with a passion that has me picking against them but hopefully things will turn out the way I want and that old stigma of losing in the playoffs for the Colts will return in full force. One can only hope but that’s why they play the game.
Final Score: San Diego 27, Indianapolis 24
New York Giants New York Giants (10-6)

Dallas Cowboys Dallas Cowboys (13-3)
Maybe it was for the best that the New York Giants have to play all their games on the road in the playoffs, because for some reason they are much better on the road then at home. That being the case, I give them a great shot at going into Dallas and coming out with a win but it’s going to take one hell of an effort. The Dallas Cowboys haven’t played up to the level they exhibited earlier in the season and with T.O. nursing a high ankle sprain, I’m sure his involvement in the Dallas offense will be somewhat limited. Though the outcome remains to be seen, the New York defense has come to play these last few weeks and if they are able to get consistent pressure on Tony Romo and make him look average then the Giants can find themselves one game away from the Super Bowl. Who would’ve though that?
Final Score: New York 31, Dallas 20

Miami Vice

I could understand a team falling apart over a certain period of time…however, the Miami Heat are not far removed from winning a championship, but one wouldn’t be able to tell by how pathetic they look right now. As I write this, their record of 8-27 is among the worst in the NBA and it makes you wonder how things could’ve fallen apart so quickly. Like I said, I could understand if things had happened over time but it’s only been like 2-3 years max so this is just ridiculous. Yeah, I realize that Shaq is not the same as he once was and that he’s on the decline but this team is old and save for Dwyane Wade, no other talent seems to be prevalent on this team.

Call it a gift and a curse, but Pat Riley built this team for the short term rather than the long and in the end, he’s certainly paying dearly for that decision. Wade is nowhere near 100%, Shaq is far from his dominant days, and half the roster is depleted and been reduced to no-name stars of tomorrow. In the end, Riley accomplished his goal of bringing a championship to Miami but if he hopes to bring more, his only hope is in making this all work. The only question is how?

Outside of Wade, no other talent shines on the court so it’s going to be tough to maneuver enough pieces to better the team. For lack of a better phrase, the Heat have little to no trade value on their roster and unless Wade decides to opt out then I highly doubt the Heat would move him. Besides, that would be one of the dumbest moves in franchise history and Riley isn’t that sold on that idea so hopefully that won’t be an option. Wade is clearly not healthy and with Shaq hurt now also, the only plausible solution would be to shut it down for the season and let Shaq and Wade get healthy for next year.

Although he’s showing signs of wear and tear, I truly believe that Shaq has just enough left to anchor a team to another title but it’s going to take more than the little he contributed in the finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Whether or not, this remains to be seen but one thing is for sure…the buckets are ice cold in Miami and unless coach Riley smartens up and thinks more about the long run instead of the short, the culture of losing that Miami had bucked will be back before they know it.

Allstate BCS National Championship Game: #2 LSU Vs. #1 Ohio State

Ok, so what do we know so far? Hawaii doesn’t belong in the same league as other BCS teams, Kansas finally beat a worthy opponent, West Virginia will prosper without Rich Rodriguez, and Michigan trumped the defending champs adding validation to a “so-so” season. All that aside, the stage is set for a match up of two strong teams and the pendulum is dead even as far as I’m concerned. I’ve never really been a fan of college football to be honest so I could care less who wins but as a fan of football period…I see this game being the perfect end to a good season of college football.

Call it the year of the upset or whatever you wanna call it, this year alone had team after team falling from the top of the BCS standings only to end up with these two teams playing for the BCS title. Whether or not the two deserve it remains an issue but all of that is irrelevant so go figure. Ohio State was crushed last year by Florida and I expect the same thing to happen again against LSU. It won’t be as much of a blowout but LSU’s speed and athleticism will outmatch Ohio State in all three phases of the game so…take it or leave it…I’m going LSU over Ohio State. Until Ohio State proves their 0-8 record against SEC opponents wrong, I have no other choice. History repeats itself and unless Ohio State does something to change it, that 0 in the win column will remain for a little while longer.

NFL: Wildcard Weekend Predictions

Washington Redskins Washington Redskins (9-7)
Seattle Seahawks Seattle Seahawks (10-6)
Through all the adversity that the Redskins have had to overcome this season, I commend them on rallying to make the playoffs but Seattle is the much better team in this match-up. On a nuetral field, Washington would have a better chance but the fans at Quest field will have that place rockin' and Seattle will put up a lot of points.
Final Score: Washington 17, Seattle 34

Jacksonville Jaguars Jacksonville Jaguars (11-5)

Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh Steelers (10-6)
If you're not a fan of physical, hardnose football then this game is not for the weak of heart. These two teams met earlier this month and Jacksonville proved that they could match physicality with a team such as Pittsburgh but I see things going a little differently this time. Either way, no team has a decided edge over the other but Pittsburgh has revenge on their mind and until Jacksonville proves they can win in the playoffs then I'm taking the Steelers in this one
Final Score: Jacksonsville 24, Pittsburgh 31

New York Giants New York Giants (10-6)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tampa Bay Buccaneers (9-7)
Coming off an emotional loss from the Patriots, the Giants head to Tampa Bay in a tough first round match up. Jeff Garcia is a catylyst for the change that's going on down there in Tampa and he's got his team fired up for a playoff run. The only question that remains is whether or not coach John Gruden made the right decision in resting his guys early and limping into the playoffs with two consecutive losses. I think it comes back to bite him in the end and the Giants escape Tampa by a field goal.
Final Score: New York 20, Tampa Bay 17

Tennessee Titans Tennessee Titans (10-6)

San Diego Chargers San Diego Chargers (11-5)
Maybe it's just me but I don't feel that Tennessee deserves to be here over Cleveland. Although none of that matters, Tennessee and San Diego are set to square off in a rematch from earlier this year that saw San Diego come out victorious and I expect the same result. L.T. is running hard and Phillip Rivers is limiting his mistakes. As long as they keep the same formula that has allowed them to make the playoffs after no one even thought they would, I see no one stopping them...especially Tennessee.
Final Score: Tennessee 17, San Diego 27
