CP3 For MVP

In the words of Tyson Chandler, "If Chris Paul doesn't win MVP, then it's a damn shame."--You know that saying...actions speak louder than words? Well, Chris Paul's play in the playoffs has spoken volumes and while it's a foregone conclusion that Kobe Bryant will probably win the MVP, I can't think of anybody more deserving than CP3.
I mean, let's be real about it, not only is Paul outplaying his counterpart in Jason Kidd, but he's making the whole Dallas Mavericks team look washed up. His ability to pass out of the double team and escape the trap, only to get the ball back and score/pass from anywhere on the floor is unreal. Throw in the fact that he's averaging 33.5pts and 13.5 assists in just his first two career playoff games, and what you have is all the makings of a perennial all-star.

Sure, Kobe Bryant does deserve the MVP based on his body of work but that's about it. Not to take anything away from Kobe, but I just feel that his play against the Denver Nuggets is nothing spectacular. Denver doesn't play any kind of defense and, bear in mind, that this is the same Denver team that let Kevin Durant go off during the last week of the regular season. That, and that fact alone, is the reason why Kobe doesn't deserve it but, on the real, I just hate Kobe with a passion. His cockiness is bad for the game but damn, this guy is just too damn good.

I guess it's a love/hate relationship because I love to hate him but too many times he snatches seamless victories away from my teams. On the respect tip, I'll give him that but hey...if they want to crown him MVP then, by all means, who am I say otherwise? Just keep in mind Laker fans, the last couple winners of the prestigious MVP award ('07 Dirk Nowitzki, '06-'05 Steve Nash, '04 Kevin Garnett) hasn't even made it to the finals. So, be careful what you wish for.
