Robin Thicke to Continue His Evolution With Something Else

Contemporary radio should be thanking Robin Thicke right about now because if it wasn’t for his late-night love ballad “Lost Without You”, it’s relevance would probably not be as strong as it is. Yes in deed, 2006-2007 was a good year for blue eyed soul and hoping to continue along this recent string of success, Robin Thicke is gearing up for his follow up to The Evolution. While critically acclaimed and praised by critics [fans] alike, The Evolution of Robin Thicke was artfully orchestrated, but this new offering is sure to be Something Else.

Just being real, the success Robin Thicke has been having is long overdue. Nobody deserves it more, in my opinion, so I’m glad to see the fruits of his labor come to fruition. That being said, I, like many others, am anxious to hear what direction he’ll go with this new album but I’m sure it won’t stray far from his last. So much R&B these days seems syrupy but Thicke’s melodic approach can be likened to a perfect equilibrium.

As far as details are concerned, not much is known about the album except that the tentative title is Something Else. Going along with that, early reports suggest that the first single could possibly be a track called “Magic” but both the title and single are subject to change. Regardless, Robin Thicke can do no wrong in my eyes and as long as he doesn’t do anything drastic, the resurgence of contemporary radio will live on.
