Validation is in the eye of the beholder but I, for one, was glad to see The Dream take home the award for Best New Artist at last night's BET Awards. Without question, the guy deserved to be recognized for his talent as a singer/songwriter but, this just in, he's an amazing artist as well.
Not many writers turned singers have been successful as of late [save for Ne-Yo], but The Dream is slowly laying down the framework for a very successful career. While he may not get all the accolades, awards, and such that he very much deservers, his debut album Love Me All Summer/Hate Me All Winter has quietly become a "slept on classic". Yet and still, it just goes to show that hard work and dedication goes a long way with a little bit of effort; and for Terius "The Dream" Nash, a Best New Artist award is proof that dreams can come true
